Sabanci Renewables is proud to announce its second renewable energy project in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) market: the 232 MWdc Oriana Solar project, located in Victoria County, Texas. Construction of the Oriana Solar Project began in January 2024. The facility entered commissioning in August 2025, and commercial operations are expected to commence in September 2025.
The project utilizes cutting-edge bifacial solar panel technology, which captures sunlight from both sides of the panels, maximizing energy production. Given the rapidly evolving market conditions — including tariff risks, potential regulatory changes, and broader shifts in the investment environment for utility-scale BESS projects, Sabanci actively works to optimize the BESS project to invest in.
The project in Victoria County will power 65,000+ homes. In addition, the construction of the Oriana Solar Project has been completed, and more than 300 people were employed during the construction phase. Over its lifetime, the Project will also generate more than 30 million USD in property tax revenue to support local schools, roads, and other public services.
Oriana Solar will play a crucial role in reducing the region's reliance on fossil fuels and mitigating the effects of climate change.
