Investment Manager

Drew D'Alelio has over a decade of experience in climate VC, project finance, and policy. He is passionate about decarbonizing the energy sector and bridging innovation divides between developed and emerging markets.

Prior to joining Sabanci Climate Ventures, Drew helped build the $100 million Climate Tech Fund at Connecticut Innovations, the state's strategic venture capital arm. While at CI, he led 18 investments across climate tech sectors, including early stage, growth equity, venture debt, and fund transactions. He served as a board observer for 9 of those companies and had two exits in the energy sector, including one unicorn. While at CI, Drew also served as a mentor at Climate Haven and helped manage a $25 million grant fund in CT, which helped scale utility and startup pilots. Before that, Drew worked at the US Development Finance Corporation, where he supported investment processes for renewable energy and infrastructure projects in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

Drew holds an MBA and MPP from Yale University and a BA from Northwestern University. At Yale, Drew taught courses on renewable energy project finance, entrepreneurship, and leadership, managed the Clean Energy Finance Journal, served as an admissions interviewer, and led the Economic Development and Social Impact Club. He was also a Kerry Fellow, supporting the former Secretary of State on climate and energy market research.

In his spare time, Drew is an avid hiker and traveler (over 50 countries and 30 US national parks to date), guitarist, mystery game party host, and diehard Boston sports fan.
